Small Business Innovation Research Initiative (SBIRI)

This scheme facilitates the R&D carried out under PPP mode. It provides support from BIRAC to the Industry (DSIR recognized) and academic partners for early stage funding involving high risk. SBIRI has supported nearly 260 projects out of which 198 were carried out independently and 64 were pursued as a collaborative R&D projects. The projects supported by SBIRI have led to the generation of 38 new products and technologies and filing of 28 intellectual properties (IPs). The total number of beneficiaries of this scheme account to 252.
Biotechnology Industry Partnership Programme (BIPP)

BIPP works in partnership with government and industry on cost sharing basis for bringing out innovative research in the fields of transformational technologies in biotechnology. This programme has supported nearly 196 projects out of which, 61 were I-A collaborative projects. BIPP has led to the generation of 47 technologies/processes and accounts for 31 filed IPs.
