A. Global Innovation Technology Alliance (GITA)

GITA came into existence in 2007 with a handshake of public sector i.e. DST with private sector i.e. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) having 51% and 49% equities respectively. It is registered as Section 25 Company and is working with a mandate to promote collaborative R&D.

B. National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB)

The NSTEDB was established in 1982 under the ambit of DST to provide institutional support mechanisms for the development of technology led enterprises in the country. It has started a number of programmes to promote entrepreneurial growth and enterprise development under the National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI; http://www.nstedb.com/new-programmes.htm). These programmes provide financial support for carrying out technology incubation and related activities at Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) and Science and Technology Innovation Parks (STEPs) established by DST in the public and the private sectors. Some of the programmes such as, NIDHI-Promotion and Acceleration of Young and Aspiring Technology Entrepreneurs (NIDHI-PRAYAS) and NIDHI-Seed Support System (NIDHI-SSS)- provides early stage investment aims to support young techno-entrepreneurs and start-ups.

C. Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)

The SERB is a statutory body established by DST to promote and support basic research in the field of emerging areas in science and engineering.

D. Technology Development Board (TDB)

The TDB is an autonomous board set up to provide financial assistance to Indian industries and related agencies for developing and commercializing indigenous technologies and adoption of foreign technologies for domestic applications.

E. Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC)

The TIFAC is an autonomous body under the ambit of DST. It was established in 1988 to understand and support technology trajectory in the country. TIFAC has developed a close association with academic institutes and industries and promote collaborative R&D.
